Putting soul into veterinary care…

Urban eco-chic reception and waiting area at Mt. Tabor Veterinary Care located at 4246 SE Belmont St. #1 in Portland, Oregon.
You know that relaxed feeling that comes over you after discovering the perfect Veterinarian for your darling feline or canine? I do. I happen to be in love with my Vet, Dr. Kristin Sulis who is not only the most caring animal doctor I’ve ever known, but also the most savvy physician, always up-to date on the latest technology. She’s quite the animal-human advocate and passionate about her work.
Dr. Sulis recently went solo and opened up her own private practice, Mt. Tabor Veterinary Care. Yesterday, I took my cat Baby in for an appointment and stepped into the lounge-esque waiting area on hip SE Belmont St. I hung out on the couch with my girl while I gazed up at the most adorable retro-pineapple chandelier and guess what else? To top it off, I was served tea and cookies on the most beautiful plate.

I do have to say a word on the eco-chic nature of the space. All the architectural work was done with the utmost care for the environment. The far brick wall (in the first photo) was sandblasted to reveal the original brick color and incorporated in the design of the space. Did I mention that I was the Interior Designer on the project? It was fabulous and exciting to be part of the team. Visit MTVC’s blog for more on the eco-details.
Check out Baby and I in the Kitty Exam Room…Look at her. She is so relaxed and so is her momma.
Ok, so I’ll leave you with this. You will not find cold, steel tabled and white walled exam rooms here. What you will find are beautifully decorated exam rooms complete with a wood exam table, warm furniture, comfortable chairs, carpeted floors and this lovely mirror for our furry friends to gaze into.
What a refreshing experience. As the new cover of ODE Magazine says, “Companies that put soul into their businesses do better.” This concept is catching on fast.
